1. Choosing Your Parrot

Before purchasing a parrot from Parrot Haven, we encourage you to research your desired species. Consider its personality, lifespan, dietary needs, and care requirements to ensure it aligns with your lifestyle.

2. Home Suitability & Compatibility

To ensure a proper match between parrot and owner, we may request a brief consultation or questionnaire. This helps us assess whether your environment is suitable and whether you’re prepared for responsible ownership.

3. Reserving Your Parrot

To reserve a bird, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the parrot’s total price is required. This confirms your commitment to adopt. Final payment must be received:

At least 24 hours before delivery if you’re having your bird transported

Or at the time of collection if you’re picking up in person

We accept payment via PayPal Friends & Family. Please note: Payments sent as “Goods and Services” on PayPal will be refunded, minus applicable charges.

4. Preparing for Your Bird

You must have a suitable cage ready before your parrot arrives. We offer a spacious, hygienic cage tailored for exotic birds for £300, available at a discounted rate for our customers.

5. Payments & Documentation

Maximum of 2 payment transactions per order (not including deposit)

Documentation provided after full payment includes:

Health Certificate or veterinary records

Vaccination/DNA records (if applicable)

Species-specific care guide from Parrot Haven

6. Delivery or Collection

We offer nationwide delivery via trusted pet transport services starting at £100. Final transport cost depends on distance and will be discussed before confirmation.

7. Settling In

Your parrot may need time to adjust to its new home. We recommend:

Giving them a quiet, comfortable environment for the first few days

Booking a check-up with an avian-certified vet within the first week to establish baseline health
